A service retirement earned cannot be taken away - legally. They will get their benefits but they may have to sue to get them. If they sue, they will win.

No it explicitly stated they would NOT receive ANY benefits after immediately leaving the service branch they're serving in.

The retirement system plan spells it out explicity the time frames and calculations of benefits which no idiot president can modify by executive order. They can only be changed by the system and all the persons in question are grandfathered in. It would take an act of congress to change anything.
