Except it is not a democracy. The voters get to choose from the two options that the two Political Corporations (Parties) tell the voters they can pick from.

Yes. The US was a republic. Now it’s becoming a dictatorship. The Republic wasn’t great, but at least we had a chance.

Not confined to the US either....In the UK MPs select an "independent" committee to fix their pay. Then everytime claim they are "honour bound" to accept their over generous decision, whilst slashing everyone else's pay committee's recommendations as unaffordable.
