It was a stupid fake high road. The real high road isn't walking on eggshells, being afraid to offend conservatives. The real high road is fighting for those who need help, challenging the powerful and enforcing the law equally. We lost sight of that in the quest for superficial niceness.

You’re right. Watching Ted Cruz, Jim Jordan and others yell at witnesses to intimidate them while Dems just stood by was maddening. Dems just seem to stand by and watch as Trump and his minions kept filing appeals, rather than doing something about it.

They do that a lot: just stand there and let the GOP abuse people. That's not taking the high road, that's enabling abuse.
