Yes, I grew up in NYC in the 1970s/1980s (when crime was way higher than it us now) and my parents let us take the subways all the time...and starting in 8th grade, I rode 2 city busses to school (each way!). Even went to a concert at Shea Stadium via the 7 train with a friend as a teen.

I have been in NYC since 1981, crime was worse then, but (knock wood) nothing has ever happened. Once some guy tried to grope me going up the stairs, I had a rolled up magazine and swatted him with it. That happens to women everywhere.

This is what Cuomo is afraid of: getting swatted with that rolled up magazine.

Same. Grew up in Philly in the 70s, took the subways, trains, and busses all over the city. Never had a problem.

These idiots don't remember how bad crime was during the crack epidemic, when there were over 2,000 murders a year. If these wusses are so scared now, let them pack up and move.
