It was a choice, wasn't it. Ugh.

I haven't watched s3 yet, but I suspect the Pandemic + Writers' Guild strike didn't help matters. Hopefully s4 improves.
While I do appreciate the effort of trying new things & trying to keep things fresh the idea is probably getting tired. 4 & a half Vulcans wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It could have been better. What is Starfleet. Was imo the weakest episode of the show so far.
I hope there's some more standard stuff in the last few episodes of this season. Please no more love sick Spock stuff either.
They learned the wrong lesson from the Lower Decks crossover success.
It's also the "Who is Spock gonna fuck this week" show. I get the Spock and Chappell relationship that had ties to TOS. But really?
His 7 year horny cycle was accelerated to 7 hours in SNW. I couldn't resist Christina Chong either.
It's fine to have gimmick episodes every so often when you have 26 episodes a season - but it's really exacerbated when you only have 10, especially when the ratio is increased.
This season reminds me more of Community than it does Star Trek. And for SNW, that’s not a good thing, however much I fucking love Community.
Incoming Season 4 Puppet Episode.. The gas leak seems to have started early...
Fascinating how both shows pull the puppet episode gag in season 4, isn’t it? And since S5 will feature Jim Kirk’s first day on the Enterprise as Captain, SNW will repilot the show that season… just like Community did. And if that wasn’t enough, TOS & Community used the same stages at Paramount.
I had this thought as soon as the documentary episode started. This show still isn't sure what it wants to be or who the characters are. Or the themes for that matter.. The trend of "we found out Actor X does Y, so we will change their character significantly to work this in" is also tiresome..
It’s like they split a full season of 90s Trek into 3 seasons of modern Trek and forgot to balance them out. So now we’re getting flooded with gimmick episodes and one-offs.
I love #StrangeNewWorlds but I am tired of them throwing women at Spock to what one sticks. Enough already.
I agree. While the episodes aren't bad, we only have 10 episodes per season and only 2 episodes this season haven't been what would be considered filler...
Very bad decisions.
I’m good if I only watch the lower deck’s crossover episode and skip Strange new worlds?
Seasons 1 & 2 are excellent. Season 3, not so much.
yes go ahead! 🖖
