America won't protect kids getting murdered in schools, but it sure will protect unborn children inside of women's bodies

I thought similar. Pro-gun/NRA/2nd Amendment freaks MUST also be honest and admit they accept the consequences of their choice, which is dozens of school/church/public shootings every year. Turns out they just always think MORE guns are the answer.

Why just banning assault rifles? The murderer in Dunblane almost 30 years didn’t use an assault rifle yet virtually all owning of guns in U.K. was banned. We’ve had around half a dozen mass killings (4 or more) since. In almost 30 years.

Once every 5 in 30 years works out to 1 every 5 years. In the USA, it's once a month, and it only counts if the bodycount is >5. NYC just snuck in... 4 dead doesn't even make the news.

I think only one (Cumbria) has been double figures in U.K. since Dunblane. The murderer was a farmer - a couple of years earlier we stayed in a holiday cottage about 200 yards from his farm… 😬

Someone pointed out no person arrested for a mass shooting has ever been charged with “murder as an act of terrorism,” but the guy charged with killing the United Healthcare CEO was. Kill a dozen people, it’s a mass shooting; kill a CEO, it’s terrorism.

I tend to put it at Columbine over a decade earlier. Yeah, the kids were older, yet they were equally terrorized and slaughter. And our primary response was to "harden" schools and buy more guns

Columbine is a school inside an extremely well to do upper middle class Conservative stronghold, which is why the shooting happened AND why the reponse was exactly what it was

Yup. Everytime any of those happened gun sales of the specific gun used skyrocket. I believe gun nuts worry they will ban that gun so try to buy it before that happens. But none have been banned in decades. So really it's collecting the murder weapons as a hobby.

The columbine killings took place during the Clinton assault weapon ban.

The springfield oregon school shooting took place a year or two prior.

They view them as collateral damage for their freedom to have guns. Every time there’s a mass shooting ever person in Congress should have to sit through watching the video footage of the immediate aftermath. Up close and personal. It’s easy to keep yourself unattached from a distance.

They should all have to attend each and every funeral until they change how they vote.

This. I dont write this lightly but, like the Emmit Till killing, had the families of Sandy Hook allowed the photos to be released, it may have changed the course. However, I don’t blame them at all. Not sure what I would do in their position.

A weapon designed with the only purpose to kill human beings. Hunting weapons can kill people as well, but are not designed to destroy the body of the animal rendering it impossible to consume. Military grade weapons do incredible damage to the body.

Technically ALL firearms have only one sole intended purpose: to shoot a projectile known as a bullet and cause debilitating or fatal damage to something. You don't actually specifically need a firearm to hunt any known animal on the planet, it's just used for convenience, also when killing humans

And no, a .223 is not just a "spicier .22". It's the same diameter. A .22 cartridge is a rimfire cartridge with very little range or stopping power. Basically to shoot a hole in a beer can or a rodent. A .223 is a centerfire cartridge with far more range, and far more power.
