I love this AND I would also remind everyone that a large number (if not the majority) of the Chicago PD are MAGA. So, I would not count on “extra effort” in this regard. I would love to be wrong (and maybe I am), but I don’t think so.

Officers should photograph the ID and the person for record keeping and if one goes rogue and needs to be arrested.

It seems entirely sensible thing to do when masked men welding weapons turn up in your city.

A lot of work. Do they have enough officers to do this? But yes sounds good.

Excellent idea. If you cannot prevent them from being there, then local PD need to make their being there goddamned inconvenient. ESPECIALLY anyone who is a rank officer or senior agent. Those need to be hauled in for additional questioning and possibly a 24 hour hold on any weapons charges.

Also, have secondary check lines set up a few miles down the road to do it again to them if possible. Rince/repeat as often as possible. Make it so ICE knows they are hated and will be made to do as much paperwork and time waste as possible. Any mistakes and hit them as hard as possible over it.

Bill, let’s not forget their firearms. I order to secure the streets like Trump wants, every serial number should be checked to ensure they weren’t smuggled in by the dreaded Venezuelan gangs.
