This is monumentally stupid. Monumentally.

Here in Japan, the airspace over your house is considered your private property and flying a drone into it without permission can get the drone flyer charged with trespassing. I'm not sure how the law works in America, but if it doesn't work like that for you, you better push for some law changes.

Sadly, that is not how it works in America. In the past, the authorities have argued that “airspace“ begins one inch above the ground and so you have no control about what overflies your property.

In a past lawsuit it was stipulated that any drone can operate in class G airspace at 83 feet. Even over your house. Where this statement is ridiculous is that to fly in other controlled airspace one needs an FAA LAANC. You're not getting any coffee by drone soon. Duffy is a moron.

Agreed on all points. Especially the last one.

I don’t want a gun, but I would if drones were flying over my house. Can you take one down with a BB gun?

I’ve seen video of a drone taken down with a lance. However, given that they are flying with video, there *will* be video of it being taken down. Which is why there’s video of a drone being taken down by a lance. This would probably be an interesting test of “stand your ground”?

I get your drift but it is illegal to shoot down a drone. 10K fine! If you were to use a net at close range and capture the drone it would have a serial number that is traceable. If someone is using one to peep on you call the police.
