It’s not about the money for the GOP anymore. Their voters are so rabidly pro-gun that moving towards any significant gun control would cost them their seats.

My cousin’s kid was playing “school” with a nerf gun. We didn’t wait till kids played “post office” that way in the 90s. We had an assault weapon ban from 1994-2004 and only one Columbine during it. Now we have one a week it seems.

Exactly: cost them their seats. They want the seat-because it’s worth millions-or more. It’s the grift. That’s the point. Access. A foot on the ladder to riches they would never have had.
