I’m a New Yorker, so being a dick is basically par for the course.
It was a bad interview. The hosts barely let the guest speak and he didn't have much to say anyway. It wasn't comedy or philosophy.
Hi Michael! Completely unrelated, but if someone wanted to get in contact with you, what would be the best way to reach you?
i have an email listed on my youtube page! feel free to shoot me a message and know that i am like pure adhd in human form so sometime get behind on responding.
I think some people just don't like being made aware that Alex O'Connor is not the philosopher they think he is. Perfectly acceptable human being I'm sure, but not a philosopher by any objective standard, as far as I can tell.
I’m literally watching that video right now and I don’t think you were being enough of a dick, frankly.
Came here to say this! I was thinking about telling you, Michael, that I thought you could go even harder on some of these dudes.
I think coming back, in retrospect, Michael is probably right to be hesitant about whether he wants to be a dick on the internet. He's not a drama slop youtuber and probably wants a more nourishing community. Maybe it would be better to point out the errors without necessarily being mean about it.
Maybe you’re right, but at this point, I guess I’m just so fed up with people like these ruining society that I’m done playing nice. I don’t want to hear about the trolley problem when there’s a famine and genocide being perpetrated with my tax dollars.
Yeah, I mean, I’m definitely with you there. The question we have to ask is what to actually do about it. Michael isn’t talking to O’Connor or Schultz, but he is building a community. Preferably, that community is open and welcoming and a pleasant place to be. That’s one way to stop fascism.
I will be a fan of Michael, and a financial supporter as long as he keeps speaking up about the things that matter. But I suppose I do gravitate towards an angrier style of commentator, particularly these days.
what he did was definitely worth criticism. I guess you were harsh but it didn’t read like you were being unfair. still, respect the decision if you feel it’s best!
I didn't think you were being a dick at all, it was mild but warranted criticism at worst!
