Reframe ‘awkward’. It is real. It is careful, caring, considerate. It is measured. It is sensitive. It reads & has energy. It stimulates. It is authentic. It seeks deeper connection. It seeks meaningful belonging & acceptance. It sees much.

Christ! Who has the energy for all that?! Like people with adhd don't already overthink EVERYTHING. Reframe 'it's a light hearted poke at ourselves'. Am I patronising other adults?
It wasn’t supposed to be a list of to-dos for those who feel awkward. It is a list of accepting how justified & relevant ‘awkward’ is. For the non-awkwards. My son has ADHD. I fought for him in every school classroom against those trying to medicate & punish him for existing in his own skin. ❤️❤️❤️
No one should be forcing or denying him medication. It should be something he gets to discuss and choose for himself. It can help him build new neural pathways which can really benefit him throughout his life.
Oh, we tried it. He hated the meds. We worked hard to get him thru school, successfully, happy & educated. He is 37 & thriving at his work. Do not assume this mother forced anything upon him. I was his advocate in a system stacked against individual needs & success.
Not everyone gets on with them, some people can't manage without them. Great to hear he's doing well. Knowing you have adhd can be half the battle.
It's a very personal choice, but i do think there's a lot more stigma than there needs to be. I remember one of the reasons I didn't take meds as a kid, even though I would've liked them, was because my dad saw them as "legal drugs".
