It’s also about cops “just following orders” and not having the courage to say this is morally wrong. I wonder how they sleep in bed at night - arresting non-violent protestors, among which are grannies and people in wheelchairs… ACAB

I'm no fan of cops, but they were almost apologetic to me. Processed everything as quickly as possible, no charge of course. Just wanted the statement. I think they know it can't survive the courts. That said, this was not the Met cops, who are probably loving it.
Maybe you encountered a few less militant ones. I guess they know they haven’t got a leg to stand on but they still following orders. It wd take a huge amount of courage to stand up against fellow cops + say “this law is an ass” but if they don’t stand up, the slide towards fascism will speed up.
I think only the courts can make that stand, and it's absolutely essential they do. This is a real test for them. They surely understand that politicizing law to silence protest is anti-democratic and basically fascism 101?
