Correct, and we had a complete failure of the IL legislature to pass a bill and the governor’s team sat it out - if he’s such a strong governor he could have helped make something happen, all he’s done is blame transit workers

People will never be satisfied and Chicago is vitally important to the state so contact your representatives and get them to introduce a bill.

The state legislature has known about the transit financial cliff for three years, they introduced a 900 page spending bill with 12 hours before session ended for summer and it failed, service cuts are being planned and they are fine until September and the governor did nothing

They will probably call a special session either in the summer or fall.

They’ve know longer than that. The point is there wasn’t a vote by the house in time. Stop complaining, they’ll eventual pass something.

It’s already too late, they hit the financial wall in a couple weeks and service cuts will start, it takes years to reverse that even if funding comes this year which is very unlikely

No it’s not too late. CTA will make cutbacks anyway even if they get the funding or not. I am hoping they resolve this problem.

I am sure they are working on getting something to address this. CTA, Pace, Metra and RTA have dropped the ball so many times. It’s not all their fault tho, the pandemic happened. And then ridership has never quite recovered since then.

This is 100% about COVID, 2 years of no riders and the operations bill is due, ridership has largely returned and crime is down, blaming the services is cheap

Well hopefully they will come up with something real soon so funding is covered for next year. I’m sure they will. 😊👍🏼

Republicans want to kill all transit, so we can buy more cars or have driverless taxis, suburban/downstate reps won’t approve $ to the city for anything, and there are plenty of Dem nincompoops and misguided transit activists, I’m not optimistic, and it’s already kinda too late

I don’t believe it’s too late. Let’s just see. We’re covered for now.

It’s too late by statute, when money runs out they have to cut services and that doesn’t just reverse itself, it’s happened before, wheels are already in motion

It’s not too late. They might not fully fund it but they will try to give some sort of funding. capitolnewsillinois.com/news/legisla...

They just don’t care. They rather see our Governor fail than care about their own constituents welfare. I 1000% concur with you.

Sure, your orange felon, seditionist, rapist & psychopath is such a better example. 🙄 Pritzker has done more for this state than ANY governor in memory. Whine about the bill to your state legislator. And indicate which one you are talking about. We’re busy worrying about the Fascist in the WHouse!
