The Bible never claimed to be holy, though. It‘s a reflection of historical values and ideas. There are some fundamental rules in it that are important in basically every religion or human community - except maybe the Romans, they were assholes.

I’m not Christian but I like your differentiated take. I didn’t defend Christians or the stories in the Bible. It’s a historical document of ancient philosophy and storytelling, not a history book. The Bible copied much from the Thora and both copied from the Epic of Gilgamesh

No, the Bible doesn’t start with „this is the word of God“. Sometimes, it says, this passage is the word of God but not as a whole. No, you don’t need the Bible to follow fundamental rules. But modern societies write them down somehow

It’s helpful in a way that it gave rules and guidance to a specific group. All historic societies of a certain size did so through spiritual believes. Many do so through a constitution nowadays. But the majority in the world still has the spiritual approach

Have you read it?! Not all stories are about God and many have a proven historical background. The stories can be found in various sources. You don’t need to be religious to scientifically research the Bible - which is done in different fields.
