The GOP has a majority in both houses and the Executive branch. Democrats don't even come into play.
Update: reading today's Ezra Klein piece, I see I forgot that they need sixty senators to pass the budget, and the Republicans only have fifty-three.
Doesn't matter. They'll get the votes. Trump and Republicans have no problem shutting down the government when they don't get their way but Democrats always capitulate.
That's where the serious crazy making happens. We're faced with extremists pushing fascism and Dems don't resist jackshi. They've done nothing as a solidly unified body and none of the top brass are rallying in any way to do so.
it seems so basic to me, I must be naive......Dems can fund until taxes go up and programs re-instated. accelerate the downturn.
We have a totally dysfunctional government!
And it's all just one party!
Slugs for salt
But can they do reconciliation again? I thought they could only do that once a year or something? I may be off base. I mean, sure, they can just change the rules again because it's Calvinball.
I think they can just pass it with all their majorities. It doesn't require a two thirds vote or anything.
