You are right to assume that something is up, it's just not what you think.

Quantiles of testosterone in males from ages 0 to 88. Testosterone rises sharply from very low numbers to 15 nanomoles/liter between 9 and 17, then declines slightly to 14 nmol/L by 25, and to 13 nmol/L by 45. The median level then remains flat until age 88.
