I went 8 years and didn't drive. My leg improved. Now I borrow my daughter's car once in awhile. Too expensive to buy and license in BC. I drove for 47 years, so it was exceptionally hard to rely on someone else.

We had 2 Civics and one CRV. One Civic and the CRV lasted 17 years. The other Civic got sold with 220K miles on it. On our second Subaru now.

Prior to the CR-V I had Ford and Chrysler vehicles. HUGE difference.

The worst car we ever had was a Jeep Cherokee in the late 80s. I will never, EVER, own another Chrysler/Dodge. We couldn't wait to get rid of it! It was a POS at 60K - and we never had any kind of accident with it.

They did improve, so now I drive my daughter's car occasionally. But if it gets to the point that I am afraid my knee or hip will lock and I won't be able to brake when needed, I will stop again.

...true about Honda. We had a CR-V and thought it was the best ever, but then we bought the Accord hybrid, and I had to change my mind when we averaged 45 mpg.

I needed an SUV, so it was perfect for me. Also I found it easier to get in and out of than a car.
