Reasonable force is vague but maybe this is good. Adrenalin can make anyone go overboard a bit - like cops do, who are also trained not to. I do not want the right to shoot some scared kid or drunk who stumbles in when I forgot to lock up. But a known assailant with a crossbow? I think its ok.
