Mini-roundabouts are replacing 4-way and some 2-way stops in one Winnipeg neighbourhood I visited last year. The difference is very noticeable, and allows cyclists to do an Idaho stop rather than go through the charade of coming to a full stop when it is clear no one else is approaching.
