I'm panicked thatDrury will make the wrong call on the first rounder with Pittsburgh. I think Drury will end up trading whichever pick isn't sent to Pittsburgh anyway, but I can see him giving them next year's the pick, amd the Pens winning the lottery.
You see reasons why Drury is a failure but yet you don't not see why a man with Fenton's experience is so badly needed to fix the Rangers
Fenton may be a solid choice. Many guys are better the second time around.
Fenton is the best choice because he knows franchise wide issues which is the NYR's biggest problem. Retooling won't fix the NYR issues just postpone them. Fenton also was not a guy who liked trading draft picks which Drury lives by
That's what JD was when he went to St Louis. I think JD was a terrible exec, great broadcaster. Jury is still out on Keith Jones in Philly. Would Dean Lombardi be a bad choice for President at this point?
But Fenton has helped a franchise win a cup and be in contention for a second. Florida has built a pipeline of talent so they will remain a legit contender for years
From what I remember, Minnesota owner used to own Nashville at one point also, right? From what I remember, he is similar to Dolan in that he expects to compete at any cost every year, no matter what the roster looks like. Probably not a great guy to work for as a first year GM.
Current Minnesota is a Bettman crony nothing like Dolan. He has bungled things with the Wild left and right which is why the team never contends and rarely gets out of the first round
