I voted for Dems because they are not venomous Republicans. Why do I want the people I support to be more like the people I hate? Why do you?

i really don't. i firmly believe venom is counterproductive, and the only path to progress is rigorous, civil debate. but that's not today's politics. believe it or not, i'm an idealist. but the GOP takes it to the mat so consistently, it's very hard not to want your reps to firmly stand up to it.
personally, i think the path to progress requires congressional terms limits and highly structured campaign finance laws. if serving in congress was no longer a lifetime career, i think it would attract fewer of the wrong types of people. then maybe we'd get people who actually serve the public.
btw, i do think sen. klobuchar is an excellent public servant and the people of MN should be proud. i'm talking much more about the other side. but both sides could use it.
So why agree with the ghoul attacking her?
*sigh* i think he felt the same anger a lot of us feel -- that time and time again, we watch Dem politicians call this normal behavior and do nothing while they wait for the pendulum to swing back the other way (his first post)... (1/2)
...or, continue to call for civility in the face of unyielding incivility (his second post) while the other side continues to flood the zone with inhumanity and then fundraises off of it. but he speaks for himself, this is just my take. (2/2)
He is a fucking ghoul.
i guess this is where you and i disagree, respectfully.
Well yeah. You both clearly think attacking Democrats when Dems are getting murdered is the right thing to do. We have already established that
i've been as clear as i know how, including saying that i don't even know if anger is the correct response at all. if you can't see past your first impression, i don't know what to tell you. i'm sick of being angry, and i'm guessing you are too. i hope there comes a time when it's no longer needed.
