Yes , the AG that Trump appointed sided with the conservative groups. To me, that’s not great evidence that the IRS was actually persecuting conservatives. As the article you posted says, “It later emerged that liberal groups had been targeted, too, although in smaller numbers”.

OK. But if I read this correctly, NPR is reporting that 1. Trump’s AG claimed conservatives were targeted and 2. liberal groups were also subjected to IRS investigations. To me, that doesn’t seem like strong evidence of a liberal conspiracy against conservatives.

But for the sake of argument, let’s say the IRS did unfairly target conservatives. To me, the solution is to tell the IRS to be fair to all groups. Not to turn around and start unfairly targeting liberals.
