The US accounts for 57 times more school shootings than all other major industrialized nations combined (1999–2018 data).
I'm well aware of the vast discrepancy, but the "where children don't get gunned down in school" isn't exactly the case.
The guns used in our very minimal school shootings are brought in illegally from the US. Ergo, our minimal school shootings (or any shootings for that matter) are the result of America's lack of proper gun control. 😳😳🙄
"Minimal" is not zero. Zero is "where children don't get gunned down in school". One school shooting is one too many. I was completely unaware that every instance of Canadian school shootings involved illegally obtained US guns and none were legally obtained.
School shootings are a rarity here, for sure. It is a relatively arduous process to obtain a legal firearm here. Thus, the vast majority are smuggled from the US. Children here do not practice active shooter drills. Lack of gun control is an 🇺🇸 problem that spills over here. Focus on your own crap.
20 vs 1,700.
USA Total School Shootings ~ 1,700+ incidents historically from 1966-2025. Canada Total School Shootings ~20–30 events historically, mostly pre-2017, and often involving postsecondary institutions.
