Sorry, I was still on Metropolis, cause it currently lists it in Delaware. I can see the Newark thing for Gotham, but the nickname for the city kind of points at New York.

Batman was literally originally written as a Dick Tracy rip off. Thematically, Gotham is much similar to Capone-led Chicago, rife with gangster gangs with Tommy guns.

Gotham has a Harbor though which Chicago lacks. I mean the nickname for NYC is Gotham so.i don't think that's coincidence. Also why has no one yelled at me about Central City yet lol. Anyway, I'm just gonna let Delaware have Metropolis at this point it's the official location now.

Also I think this just proves we were both wrong and it's Toronto. LoL, honestly it was always listed as close to Smallville Kansas in the old days and NYC is nowhere that close. Gotham also has a Harbor, and NYCs nickname is Gotham.
