For those reaching out, thank you. I’m safe after evacuating when the fires could be seen from the window and were too unpredictable. I have dear friends who have lost everything. Please be safe everyone and pack a bag just in case. It happens faster than you can imagine when the winds are blowing.

When we had to evacuate for the 2020 Santa Cruz fire, my wife was in denial, I almost had to drag her out. We weren’t ready and couldn’t return for three weeks. Damaged but not burned out.

My sister packed her car and left her house in Altadena when she saw the glow. No one had come to tell them to evacuate. Her house burned to the ground. It was good you left.
