Their entire reality is controlled and shaped by propaganda to levels that most of us can't hardly imagine. Watch right wing channels sometime, it's like we live in two different countries/realities

We just got back from a 4 day trip through northern Idaho, western Montana, and eastern WA--- On the car radio we could only get religious or right wing stations. Ive heard right wing radio before, but NOTHING like this. The host was screaming lies about EVERYTHING. Had to turn it off!🤮😱🤬 Vile!

Ask why they choose to watch it though. They like the cruelty or they’d change the channel.

Most don't get other news stations, look at right wing media coverage maps. Many don't even know any different options exist, and right wing propaganda doesn't sell cruelty, it sells fear. A lot of people really DO believe that roving murder gangs of immigrants are an actual thing

What I always find troubling is that Fox News is the channel US military bases tune into, apparently. I suspect the Felon's 'suckers and losers' comment about soldiers was not aired on that so-called news network.

Yeah, I don't know how that's become a thing but from everything I've heard is that it's endemic across all bases too. Incredibly alarming given how biased it is, and something our Dem lawmakers should absolutely be addressing

I may be wrong, but I believe the problem is willful ignorance.

Some certainly is, yes. I don't know what percentage exactly, but I'm guessing it's getting harder to stay "truly ignorant", but then again algorithms feed most of what we find on our feeds and what we search without us even really knowing it's happening

Absolutely true. But if you told them “a brown man wants to rape and kill our women,” is actually a really old trope that couldn’t possibly be true, they are dumbfounded. Like they whine about immigration but have no idea what the basic statistics are.

Yup, it's why this country desperately needs to invest in education and teaching critical thinking skills and media literacy skills. It's just going to get worse if we don't

Too stupid to change the channel then?

Again, look at media coverage maps. Many people ONLY get Fox or right-wing hyperpartisan news channels. The right wing has completely dominated in the news media industry and has been buying up local news stations for decades now. This is from five years ago: www.niemanlab.org/2020/07/hund...

They are brainwashed. And part of that brainwashing told them not to trust any other "news" - MSM is a liberal propaganda machine, only spewing lies. They truly are in a cult.
