There ought to be a law wherein every citizen is eligible for the same insurance that our lawmakers get.

Just give everyone universal healthcare and then there's no problem. Every civilized country on the planet has figured it out, some as much as 40+ years ago, and yet here in the US we keep being told it's impossible
