I saw a guy on the internet get excited for one but I’d say this is the first time in my life where idk anyone with the new console on launch day. Why would anyone get switch 2 when gaming handhelds do so much more? $700 Mario kart machine.

Gotta get out of your bubble. I say this as someone with two steam decks & a legion go (& switch 2 fwiw) but the avg person will respond "what is that?" if you say the words Steam Deck much less Ally, etc. Nintendo is Nintendo. Nintendo used to be the Kleenex of game consoles and still is to many.
