I mentioned to someone the sad reality is people will start cutting back on other things. Dentists won't see a sudden drop in business so it won't affect them. Average folk will now put their new house funds into paying for their kids rotten teeth. But at least these dentists can afford a new GTS!

While dentists tend to be fairly conservative,the ada has spoken out against dropping fl2 in water supplies. My dentist is very unhappy about the proposition.he hates seeing kids (and adults) in pain, and wasting $ by losing that preventive measure that’s proven to reduce caries

If it happened overnight & people stopped going, dentists would realize something is wrong. But that's not what will happen. People will start cutting back from other things to pay for these more expensive dentist visits. Might be $ they were saving for a car or education etc. Dentists don't care.

We have to talk in generalities b/c I am sure there are a few dentists & doctors who aren't all about the money. As a group they COULD have put up a strong front against RFK's BS. Instead they folded. Being in the position that they are in our society, they COULD have done a lot. They CHO$E not to.
Hopefully anyone that’s got kids is able to get a generic fluoride rinse and have their kids use it properly. Anyone that is living in an area that has inflated water should probably be doing that anyway if they wanna keep their teeth.

Also the amount of private dental practices bought up by private equity is disgusting. Same thing happening to vet clinics and all the home repair companies. They keep the local name but they lower quality and raise prices to ensure top profitability.

My gynecologist went to a boutique practice model, with a $2000 per year membership fee. No insurance taken. Now, I could kind of understand that for internal or family medicine - but for a doctor I only see once a year? It felt like a terrible betrayal.
Just out of curiosity, that $2k is just to have the "privilege" of seeing the doctor, right? Like if they had to do some kind of treatment or give you meds, it would be on top of that $2k?
Yes. That's $2000 includes unlimited visits to the doctor over the period of the year. Any tests would be extra, any medications or treatments, also extra.

100% 1 mil doctors in the US. Very well paid, well-respected & barely a peep from from them on all this. If they actually WANTED to stop this, they are one of the few groups that could. They don't. Whether fluoride nonsense or abortion issues, they CHOO$E to stay quiet & profit from it instead.
If you think about it, our healthcare is run the complete ass backwards way. The government MINIMIZES competition b/w drugmakers by giving them lucrative patents - that's the only place where the competition from capitalism would be incredibly beneficial! And we artificially limit it! Insanity.
