Lavrov is simply clarifying the position that Putin told Trump to take, first in Alaska and then on the mid-meeting phone call. Trump’s mention of security guarantees was to distract from his complete failure to secure a ceasefire (not to mention distracting from his Epstein files problem).

This mess started because of NATO CREEP. Russian security was perceived to be threatened. Ukraine allowed itself to be partitioned as a wanting partner of NATO CREEP. EU must get real. Coverup is not convincing.
