2) was so big. I don't remember Churches protesting it as much as " Pretty Woman" or "Dirty Dancing" ( which was a movie about child grooming at a Summer Camp😱) ..or am I being too harsh on these well loved films?

Baby wasn't a child. She was about to go to college. DD *was* about abortion and the morality police putting women in impossible situations though
Which made her 16 or 17. Camp Counselors have a duty of care & rules regarding fraternization. ? * My wife & Daughters went to see it. They caused a stir by laughing at a tender moment. Jonny: " Nobody puts Baby in a corner.. Baby, what's your real name? " Baby: " Frances!" My Fam lost it!!!
Johnny wasn't a camp counselor. He was a dance instructor. Your family have great timing :)
I haven't seen DD. Shouldn't have used it as an example. * From a male point of view tho.. I don't understand the sex appeal of Patrick Swayze. In " Ghost " too!?
🤷🏻♀️
Only a guy, particularly in these radically disturbing times, would declare Baby “not a child”-
I'm not a guy
No. I don't think you're being too harsh. Valid observations, Francis.
Personally I don't care about (or for these movies. Haven't seen either..complete.) Far more insidious is the number of US Teen comedies that talk about " roofies" as if " date rape" were a sport. I would ban them as well as sexist rap songs! " Ho's & Bitches!" When did this become acceptable?
I definitely blame John Hughes for warping men's minds. 16 Candles is absolutely disgusting rewatching it today. Any geek can have the hotties if you just say the right words at the right time. No means keep trying. Consent means nothing. Gross.
I don't know who John Hughes is. Men without respect for women don't need reasons other than that. From experience, men who grow up in male only (mostly) environments develop warped ideas of relationships. Private Boys Schools, Armed Forces, certain Trades. * Slowly changing but backwards stepping!
John Hughes was a director that brought us movies like 16 Candles and Wierd Science that warped young men's minds. A recurring theme is relentless pursuit of girls who are not interested in you.
Ok..thanks. I haven't seen either. I agree with you. My strong objection against movies that show predatory behaviour, especially making light of date-rape drugging, demands global censorship. We don't need that "how to" freedom of expression imo.
Oddly enough, I was raised by women and attended military school.
I think early life experience is only a part of how we perceive others. When it comes down to the core of this isn't it about respect? Sex is a wonderful experience. Treating ppl as an object to have..is disgraceful & uncaring. * Yet Arse'oles, who do, can become US President. This needs fixing!
