Salvador Allende wasn't even elected until 1970. Project FUBELT was launched by President Nixon, who authorised the CIA to involve itself in the Chilean election of 1970. "Track 1" was to engineer a defeat in the election. When that failed, "Track 2" was to overthrow the government.

LBJ was the one who did the whole Montalva set up, which was the central point of track 1. And it fell under JFK's own doctrine where if any latinoamerican state elected a socialist us intervention would happen. Both LBJ and JFK funded their fair share of Paracos over here in SA.

I'm not sure where you get "LBJ did the Montalva setup." I'd need some place to read about that. Montalva was a Christian Democratic Party politician in Chile who supported Nixon's CIA-driven coup after his presidency ended in 1970. The Paracos existed from 1997 to 2006.

Montalva was all in for the CIA almost a puppet. He was central to track 1 for th same reason, LBJ funded his campaign and had media support him. Paracos just means paramilitars, is common colombian lingo, no idea about what paracos you talking 'bout. But the US did fund paramilitar activity in

Chile during both Montalva and Allende's presidency through the paramilitar branch of the nationalist party and the patriotic nationalist front.
