For me, it's less about "purity" than it is about the fact that on it's face, it is complying in advance; too many of these guys bending a knee with no guarantee that your fealty payment will get you anything other than another visit from the monster's "debt collector" for another "donation."

Giant Eagle definitely hires their version of DEI but they are one of the biggest price gougers around. We never shop there because of it. Aldi and Costco or small local stores for us.

YW - I am not the creator of this, people are organizing daily — if you want my opinion you should practice most of this for the next four years. No big purchases for sure, and absolutely research where you are buying before hand. Ie: donations, CEOs, owners & parent companies

They have a fair contract. It hasn't expired yet. Totally normal for these things to go down the wire and to have a strike authorization, but there's no need to act like there's a strike when there isn't one yet.

It's always important to follow the lead of the union and don't always assume you are crossing a picket line. For example, the union might want you to buy from Costco during the strike because it will stress the infrastructure. We don't know what they want. It is good to be attentive though.
Oh damn I didn’t even think of that aspect! I’m fairly new in my Union (we went through like a year and a half before it was allowed / contract negotiations which we’ve only been under for a year) so still learning beyond having solidarity with other unions!
Actually they don’t have a fair contract. Truck drivers are highly skilled employees, requiring special training, licenses and adherence to different driving laws than the general population even off duty. I won’t cross their picket line if they strike.

It expires on Friday -1/31 and it is not fair. But you likely Iive in a place that is lower cost of living. Your opinion is your own. But 85% of the current Costco 18,000 teamsters disagree with you.
If you say it is not fair then you believe that the union who signed the deal is inept at negotiating fair contracts for their members, which is insulting.

Teamsters President Sean O'Brien is a class traitor. He's cozy with Trump, hangs out at Mara Lago, spoke at the RNC, didn't allow the national union to endorse Harris/Walz. Teamsters locals did endorse, but the lack of unified support form them really hurt Harris.

I disagree. TJX is committed to their core values & that includes supporting their staff & encouraging diversity in their workforce. I am however disappointed that they support republicans, but I believe they contribute equally to democrats. I sure didn’t see them contributing 1 million to trump

DEI should be a natural way our world evolves. The world is very diverse. Those businesses probably have sound DEI programs in place. It is dangerous when people are put in harms way because of it.

kroger and meijer also have a pharmacy for those who cannot afford a costco membership. kroger also owns JCs, and Payless, as well as plenty other places.
You do not have to have a Costco membership to get prescriptions filled there.

How could Walgreens be committed to DEI or anything else when they allow their pharmacists/employees to refuse to sell products or fill scripts that go against their religious values. Women have been denied abortion pills and birth control, etc and one cashier lectured a customer about condoms. 🤷♀️

I’m so sorry that happened. My pharmacist once refused to fill a prescription for my husband for steroids, b/c *he* thought it was too much…even after we told him it was the appropriate dose for an MS flareup. he kept claiming he called the doc, but he didn’t. Meanwhile, my husband was suffering.

You're right. Google IS free. This is a policy at those companies so it's acceptable behavior for any employee at any time so I'm not shopping somewhere where employees have the discretion to approve or disapprove of my purchases based on their personal fantasies but you do you.

It's the company policy at Walgreens and CVS so it's happening all over the country. Having a policy like this doesn't make sense if they're concerned about diversity, equity and inclusion. I haven't shopped at Walgreens in over 2 years because of this policy.
