NEVER? Why?
NEVER? Why?
He’s too willing to throw people under the bus for power, too willing to compromise for popularity. The winds blew the right way for him to be out in front on gay marriage, but I don’t trust him (see: dismantling homeless encampment as a photo op, going on conservative shows bashing trans athletes)
Thank you. I missed his trans bashing. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Yes. Rather than say there is nuance and we want to make sure all kids are safe, he just said it was completely unfair. Like, if a kid hasn’t gone through male puberty, there is less than zero reason to ban them. There is nuance with older kids (though I still think they should be able to compete)
He is def slick, opportunistic and flawed. And, yeah--great attack dog, like no one else so far. My trust is mixed; trying to be wise abt not letting perfection get in the way of progress. Protecting trans rights is a hero's opportunity. We have until his next campaign to educate him. 🤞🏼
I don’t think he’s been bad on trans rights (or homelessness, either, though I’m less informed there), it’s just that it feels like he’s willing to throw vulnerable people away for power. And I don’t think he could win nationwide office. LOVE how he structured this bill, though.
we should certainly keep an eye on that...and keep a tally! I'm just glad he's engaging directly, which empowers other politicians to do the same.. I STILL want to vote in a progressive WOMAN for POTUS next time. But he (or some other white dude on a white horse) might be what we get. 🙃
But yes, always important to not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.
