A weird consequence of video making culture is viewers assuming that videos are only made about things you hate.

The more content creators I follow, the less I understand why they would ever read a single comment ever written
hour long video about cool antimatter experiment? "yeah i agree what a dumb experiment"
a video about how much i love country music how i spend so much time listening because i love it that i over analyze the lyrics "what a great rant i agree country music fucking sucks"
i'm sorry, that sounds pretty exhausting. i've never listened to country music but now have a list of artists i want to check out, due to your video. thank you! :)
Talk about “swoosh!”. Certainly proves the strength of confirmation bias, though.
It's a big part of why I try to avoid all sorts of bashing and negativity style videos, and to be honest just media and essays and the like in general There's already so much hate, I'm glad people have a space where they can air their frustrations about a thing, but I want to experience their joy
How... how did they miss that? You said it in the video... Also it was a good video, reminded me of some stuff I haven't heard in forever that I liked back when I still listened to country music.
The number of people that just consume media without an ounce of comprehension is astounding. Consume thing move on to next thing!
That video was a banger. My daughter and I very much enjoyed watching/listening to it while driving to/from math tutoring. She would yell "that's problematic!" from the back seat 😂
I grew up on nineties pop country and appreciated this. I never thought too hard about any of the lyrics myself.
Country and rap are probably the only two music genres that will generate an equal amount of hate no matter what opinion you present.
Singer-songwriter country rules, rip to people like Blaze Foley and John Prine
I thought this video was fun! I don’t usually like country music but I appreciated your enthusiasm and knowledge
And here I thought your enthusiasm for each of those topics was half the reason to watch. I'm so embarrassed.
Right!? "I think I'm gonna make a video about XYZ" "YEAAAAH I can't wait for you to TEAR IT APART"
People can’t imagine spending time and effort to talk about something they enjoy. How sad for them!
I do love your videos that rag on ai tho :)
What a great post I also love it when people assume I only post about things I hate.
Is this feedback coming via YT comments? (I've never seen such a pile of dreck as what can be in YT comments on any given video)
Similar phenomenon for a lot of social media-- "you didn't make your point in precisely the way I would have wanted you to!!1!!" is exhausting.
Definitely a byproduct of people not knowing what it takes to *make* a thing. Unless you're being dragged by the whims of your muse, or just Giving A Damn, there's no way you're gonna talk at length about a subject and edit it down into a 40 minute long presentation on something you hate.
I've noticed that in every fan base I've seen recently, it's all negative. Even if its positive, theres a negative aspect they mention, too. It feels like everything has to be something you hate even if theres parts you like.
I seem to recall you saying that you watched a ton of nostalgia critic critics video despite never watching a single one of his videos.
so? ive also made videos about things i dislike. this is literally what im talking about assuming i hate videos about hating things because i commented on videos about hating things.
A ton of online culture is negative by default, unfortunately.
Your telescope
That’s weird. People are weird. Why would someone respond to videos like that without bothering to even watch them first? Antimatter is cool.
