your claim that stealing something worth less than $900 wasn't illegal is blatantly false. so if you do know what happened you're an admitted liar. do you think that red states with an even higher felony cutoff also don't care about the law, or does it only count when dems do it?

In practical terms, it matters. It was misdemeanor now and the police couldn’t be bothered. So it effectively diluted the law entirely. My wife would have people come into the store, with their smart phones tabulating the amounts. Then stealing $850worth….comeback an hour later and do it again.

thanks for admitting that you lied about the issue still, you didn't answer my question about red states. which is to say you absolutely answered my question you don't care about law, you care about being a partisan hack

I moved from California to a red state, we don’t put up with any of that crap. If there are other red states with higher cutoff, I am absolutely against it. Would love to know what those red states are.

iirc, only three states have a threshold ≤ CA's old one and ~12 have one ≤ the new one

It appears 12 have a lower threshold, of which I have lived in three of those states. We didn’t mess around.

in reality it's not a good measure of concern about crime at all, but it feels good for people who need to perform toughness

Well, we obviously disagree. When you become a victim of crime, your reality changes.

Thanks. Florida is $750. They are doing it smarter. Indiana where I lived, is $750…same for Missouri. Virginia has it as $200, a “blue state”

Right, do this isn’t a simple red/ blue thing and the absolute evil you attribute to CA dems is still far stricter than most of the country. It is, in fact, better based on your metric than most red states

I didn’t lie, I stated the factual reality of what happened. Just as I stated the factual reality of what happened in Portland…insane laws and policies by an unhinged leftist ideology.

you said they had to steal over $900 for it to be law breaking. not that police failed to enforce the law, that it actually wasn't law breaking (I also find it funny when people claim the cops not doing their job is Dems fault)

And that is the reality, when you decriminalize things and Calif moved it up to $950 they effectively made it legal to do it. Technically no, pragmatically yes. That’s the point.

Again, they didn’t decriminalize it. Even now you insist on lying about it, bd wise you’re an unprincipled partisan hack

What’s your definition of decriminalize? If the action resulting is no penalty for the crime because it won’t be enforced, the net effect is decriminalizing. Not only not prosecuting, LEOs aren’t even bothering to investigate or enforce.

This definition says that what you are calling decriminalization isn’t And you claimed Dems did it, cops refusing to do their jobs isn’t a Dem policy choice
