"Christian values" seem to represent a turning back of the clock to some imagined golden age, much like the far right believe. Society is constantly moving on, we can't afford to go backwards. Christian values are very unforgiving e.g. in terms of homosexuality, feminism, punishment for crimes etc.

I am not sure. You should hear the interviews. They talk about finding god and then searching for religion. Two talk about apparitions before going to church. I think it's more than going to church to fill a community void, I was perhaps being glib in my original comment.

That number (46%) is correct, which surprised me. So I did a little more digging and it’s only 6% that actually practice by reading the bible or attending church at least monthly. This seems a lot more like the sense of it. Church attendance is in decline with some fluctuations.
