"Rylan is not an ideologue. He is exactly the sort of person the government should be talking to." Rylan's migrant rant was full of far-right misinformation – and the government is to blame for its shocking lack of effort to control UK conversation on asylum seekers

Time starmer did a government announcement/place TV/Newspaper Ads to once and for all tell everyone what these "asylum seekers" get/don't get. Phones? Yes/No. Ipads? Yes/No. Are these hotels still 4* or just buildings that were 4* hotels and are now just buildings? Etc. Spell it out loud and clear.

How can the government control the conversation around immigration when the fourth estate (the media) aren't doing their job of informing the public about the facts & truth? The govt has an uphill task if the RW media (who owns most of our media) is constantly platforming liars like Farage!

I've started to switch off the news as I find some channels, particularly BBC are not balanced. Too many are opinion pieces instead of providing facts. Lack of scrutiny of Farage who seems to be frequently platform.

Starmer needs to start building a relationship with the public through direct dialogue as speaking through Parliament does not connect with the public. He needs to go through each challenge the country faces and what he is doing about them and what success looks like. Slogans/sound bites don't work!

Maybe that’s the way to go but that’s time consuming and he has been very busy with world events since coming into power. Sounds like I’m making excuses, I’m not, they clearly have to do something and fast. I think the BBC need to be questioned as to why they allowed this to be aired.
