Next summer Labour must have a rota of senior cabinet members on duty to deal with all the news Farage generates while the rest of them are in constituencies or on holiday. He had a holiday earlier in the year, knowing he'd get maximum uninterrupted attention from most media over the summer.
Labour should try and make sure the Summer recess next year is much shorter. They could keep parliament ticking over whilst allowing so many of their own MPs to take breaks as long as there are enough MPs around for any divisions. Farage and co. would then be forced to turn up more often.
They all need a good break but not the whole 10 weeks or whatever it is. One of Rayner, Lammy, Reeves, Cooper etc should be very visibly in charge at any time when Parliament is not sitting.

You’re right and your piece was balanced as always. Rylan is not a bad guy. But he has an obligation to check the “facts” he is speaking on national TV. As do his bosses. As do all media. The govt could do better, but jeez, they ain’t getting much help.
