Rather than calls for the flags to be removed, which enables the far right to claim victimhood, let’s add other flags to the lampposts - Palestinian, Sudanese, Ukrainian, UNHCR as a starting point !

On private property is one thing. On public infrastructure which could potentially be dangerous, flags falling off from fly overs on to on coming traffic should be removed. As should graffiti on road infrastructure.

One of the problems with this flag is it's so warlike and aggressive - it's two lines painted in blood. We should change the flag to something softer. Natash Devon mentioned mythical creatures - we should have a brexit unicorn in pink on a blue background with EU stars.

Leave them up for a few weeks, quietly have them removed, let it go away. I hope that works because I am angry. Diving home from France this week and seeing these flags reminded me of Brexit and that our loudest voices are saying "we don't want you here". And that isn't the country that I know.

Two local zebra crossings painted. I will write to my new Reform Ltd councillors and ask what they are doing to help curb vandalism in the ward and ensure that perps are adequately dealt with. I'll include photos of assorted graffiti. Reform Ltd are big on civic pride, so I'm expecting some action.
