People naively think the system is infallible and that there are checks in place to stop any abuse of power Not realising that the system is designed to work how those in power want it to work

Yup, and since brexit they're drunk on power and being able to do all the heinous things they weren't allowed to do before. Turning the clock back to the late 60s/early 70s
