I regularly watched The Drum and loved it when Nydal was on. I really do miss it and many of the wonderful guests.

I thought Nadal was quite insightful. Still miss The Drum.
Me too. A great loss.
The Drum was where I learned who Australian influencers were. Putting a face to a name and hearing them speak told you who and what they were. Invaluable. Loved hearing and seeing Nydal speak on The Drum. Nothing has replaced that important ABC program. #auspol @petermurphy.bsky.social
Same Peggy. Always such diverse panellists on it with insightful views. I always watched it later in the night on iview and do still wonder why abc axed it.
Miss Julia Baird and Ellen Fanning too. Often wonder why ABC axed The Drum. Probably the obvious ‘removal of free voices.’ @ellenfanning.bsky.social @abcnewsbot.bsky.social
Dumbing down the offering to dumb down the audience.
Yep.
The Drum was a powerful voice from the Australian centre. First the ABC News division had to weaken it, and when that wasn’t enough they shitcanned it. For what,, repeats of back roads Antiques Roadshow, and Spics and Specs.
The IPA neoconservative plants at the ABC National Broadcaster have broken up the ABC National Broadcaster and Emergency Channel “Piece by Piece” as James Paterson IPA promised. Getting rid of The Drum and Q&A removed all local influential voices and open discussions.
