As long as you allow enough light into the space, the dark would look amazing.

Should work nicely with many possible shades of pink in the couch, but if too unsure: paint-swatch some options directly on the wall and sit with it for a little
You have to put large swatches of the colors up and look at them at different times of the day and night to get a real feel for how the color will look in your space. If it's one wall, you can go darker b/c its not going to be bouncing off of itself. Personally, I'm in a darker color phase now.
I had the dark one on my bedroom ceiling
Yes. But...if the room gets little sunlight, you might like the one to the right. I did a dark purple accent color close to the top right in my daughter's room. On cloudy days, it would appear much darker.
I would go straight to the dark first… I would have to talk myself into the lighter color.
I love all of them, you have a tough choice.
A dark wall can make artwork glow like little jewels
You watch black and white movies. I bet you'd like the dark. If not, repaint! (I was once going for a faint rose color and ended up with pepto-bismol pink which was VERY hard to cover up)
My lone superpower is the ability to visualize a wall from a paint chip, so I am insufferably arrogant (but I would rather have a sense of direction)
I envy that superpower! I am wearing a T-shirt right now that is very dark purple, which could be influencing me somehow. Just fyi.
Someone wrote once that accent walls are “cowardly” Klingon interior decorators, man.
This wall will be paired with a pink couch and yellow Labrador
😍
I’m kinda feeling the second darkest but I need a physical chip
The bottom two are definitely too rosy for a pink couch.
Just remember, it always comes out darker when you do the whole wall. Go with a medium shade.
I am a freak who can visualize a paint chip to wall flawlessly. It’s useful once every few years but I am doing it!
I want to say go with the darkest, but the second darkest would probably be good.
Nice! That's a great color and accent artwork! 😊
I like it, but feel like the clock shouldn't be centered. But them I do love to jam lots of art on my walls...
Burgundy wall, mint green couch, mint green Kit-Cat Klock
Anyway, I will bring my fancy handmade purple ochre watercolor with me because that’s really the color I want to match
Most purple ochres lean red or caput mortuum but this one is over into true purple and I love it
I absolutely am! The paint people all know me
I've never heard of caput mortuum as a color (I'm not artsy) but it's such a beautiful shade! Thanks for the introduction. :)
I love it, especially when it leans Violet
yeah that top left color would be cunt. my parents used to have a room that color in our house and it was beautiful.
Gotta be you. Do the one you want in your heart of hearts.
Love the cat clock. Corny but cute.
Omg that's gorgeous
I mean if you could handle this yeah dark purple should be fine.
Same color as our accent wall. Love it.
Love this
Second darkest, I say.
The second darkest was my favorite. Not that you asked if course.
They all look great, FWIW
The second darkest seems like it will strike a good balance between giving you a nice strong purple vibe without making your room a dungeon. All great choices.
Go ALL THE WAY!
Anyone else wait just a little too long for the pictures to load before your brain figured it out? Good, me neither.
do it
Yes, darkest
But what room? Dark like this is fine for a bedroom. But I wouldn’t use it for an office…
It's not about courage but about how depressing you want the room to look. I vote for lower left swatch.
I have gone with dark purple for my home office in each house I lived in and it never felt gloomy.
best image post i have seen on bluesky thank you heck yeah purple
both the medium tones are nice but second darkest on the upper right gets my vote
Oh, dang, that dark purple is *gorgeous*. We have two purple accent walls in our bedroom, though it's a brighter, redder purple than any of these. I might like something like the bottom left for my office, though.
(If you're wondering why two: At some point a previous owner cut out part of a load-bearing wall, so we have an "arch" that creates a separation into two segments. We painted the interior-facing part of the arch & the wall that the balcony doors are in.)
Top right. (You may take my suggestion or leave it as you wish.)
I’m leaning that way myself
With my Realtor cap on, accent walls are most effective when there's a significant value difference between the accent wall and the other walls. So if the other walls are light, have the guts. Definitely have the guts.
i painted a bathroom that darkest color in 1986. it probably says something that i still remember it.
I want a pastel goth vibe. I cute but I also eat organ meats, ya know?
wide-angle photo of the room & color in your accent wall. the darkest color might look great!
i believe the darkest of these purples will produce the most serene result
My pick is bottom left but I am incredibly biased-- I had this exact shade in my childhood bedroom!
fwiw I let my mom scold me out of a darker purple accent wall years ago and I'm still low key regretting it.
I believe in your ability to take it as far as purple can go.
Would it seem a little dreary? I like bottom left, but I've also never had an accent wall. It's very possible you are playing it properly!
Bedroom-office
Honestly if there was a level between the top two that feels like it would be perfect
We have a black accent wall, I say go for it
What kind of room is it? Does it get natural sunlight?
Bedroom-office and yes
Then assuming the other walls are light coloured the darkest should be ok. Trust me, I'm no expert.
Depends on how light the room is--definitely get a sample to paint on the wall and see how it looks
Paint it 2nd lightest color as a first coat, you can always go darker.
Actually, to me- the darkest purple is the most neutral color. Does the word neutral help at all?
Do it!
Hard to imagine you’d be sorry.
Hold on, the pictures aren't loading for me
They are all worthy of a wall!
A little chip will look darker on an entire wall. I learned that the hard way.
The darkest or the lightest look best. It always looks darker when the wall is painted. The teo middle colors will be very different. I messed up painting my room a much too dark yellow
The darkest sort of tiptoes into the gray-black spectrum to me, so seems like a more neutral purple than the second darkest, which seems more firmly in Purpletown.
I kept waiting for the images to load...
bottom right !
We did a light purple for our music lounge/record room chill out area and I like it more than I expected.
The 'Now Playing' shelf above the turntable is aces! Makes a place for the empty sleeve, doesn't take up precious real estate on a flat surface.
Thanks! Procured it on Etsy for a reasonable sum.
Lovely!
