He gives me courage. I have many misgivings about AI, but am concerned that if I voice them, I will be regarded as an old stick-in-the-mud who can't change with the times--because of my age. Which seems unfair, given that I tend to be an early adopter.

I am also a skeptic. To avoid seeming like a stick-in-the-mud, I usually say that when AI models stop training on stolen information, provide transparency to the algorithms and create an industry set of ethics, I’ll rethink my position. I don’t think any of those things will happen.

If AI was so awesome, why does it nit provide a single citation for the scrapped content.

And why does it manufacture false citations for legal cases?

Don't be too concerned. I'm a Senior Software Engineer at a "big data" company & I'm not shy about my misgivings about AI. Someone may think me an old fogey but I'm still the man they ask when they want clarity over new technology.
