I’ve been a Democrat for a month. I’m a Democrat who loves capitalism, wants to dramatically increase legal immigration, is a strong gun rights advocate, believes transgender Americans have a right to serve in our military, and who believes today’s GOP is a threat to democracy.

I’m not sure that “turned them into” anything, they were already there.
It gave them the "guns party" stick to beat Dems with, and has cost us in every election since. It also played as a call to Dems to disarm and embrace anti-gun dogma and emboldened cons with the idea that they can push their shit as an armed party vs. a toothless/gunless opposition.
He did not pay child support. His wife had to take him to court. He's also one of the guys who made himself a political career saying Obama was born in Kenya. Google is your friend.
In all fairness, people can, and often do, change their minds and their moral compass as they grow and learn.

Honestly, I don't know much about him accept he surely seems believe in democracy and is trying to fight hard against the maga movement. He campaigned heavily to promote Harris last fall, knocking on doors, etc.

I've been a Democrat since I was a teen (2002), and I think making immigration easier for all is a talking point state level Dems should be making. So much time, waiting, and red tape for those who want to be citizens.

That statement illustrates the problem, not the solution. I appreciate your views and you finally speaking out, but changing your team uniform does not solve the problem. You are a free agent in a contract year looking for the bank. Walk the walk. Fight the fight for the people, not your “team.”
I like the idea of a #PurpleCaucus made up of senators and representatives declaring themselves: Independents Even a small number, working together, could shift votes and make both right and left come toward the center. Their platform would be to promote what the majority of Americans want.
This is why the Constitution created the Electoral College. If no candidate gets a majority, the House votes by state delegation until there’s a winner. It’s a kind of coalition process—just shifted into Congress. The Senate picks the VP.
It’s called the “Fulcrum Strategy.” In order to succeed, it would require many more states and municipalities to adopt Ranked Choice Voting, independent redistricting commissions, and open non-partisan primaries.
How does Bernie do it ?
Sample size of one. For the fulcrum strategy to work, you would need at least 5 or 6 Senators, maybe 8 or 10 to account for the filibuster, and you would need maybe 20 or 30 members of the House.
Okay That’s why it’s called a caucus, and that’s what I’m calling for. Bring some plurality to this structure… the winner takes all approach is like a drunk driver going down the road bouncing from curb to curb!
