This is not who we are.👇
I’m starting to think this is who we are.
You keep saying that Joe. But this is EXACTLY who we are. I wish it weren’t so but the sheer number of times you’ve had to say this proves the point. This is America
Kudos to the Bishop trying to protect his congregation. Sad for our country. Seems very Russian-like....
It is exactly who the GOP is. It was who they were when you were there as well. Every fucking racist piece of shit policy in this country has been something they've been pushing for years - ESPECIALLY the freedom caucus guys. Don't act like this is something new, Joe. Come on, man...
Oh, I’m afraid it is now
This is not who we are *supposed to be*
This may not be who many of us are, but this is how our country is now. I'm ashamed to be American.
Yes it is
It is now.
This is who Americans have become. The I voted for this people includes our Catholic VP.
Horrible... just 1 in a long list
Joe, im afraid that there’s a large segment of the population that ARE
Until "we" stop it, it is who we are.
Um, I get that the Bishop is “protecting” his flock. BUT that he has to grant them permission is just gross too. Religion 🤮
But sure, we’re violating the rights of Evangelicals ‘cuz there’s a book about LGBTQ+ lurking on a school bookshelf.
It is who we are since enough of the electorate could not be bothered to see the danger and vote AND those who bother....still could not pull the lever for more than qualified candidate....because........reasons......
Joe, it IS who we are. This is what the GOP (who you used to be part of) has made us become.
It’s not who we should be, but very much is who we are now. We need to set change in motion with 2026 mid terms in the worst possible way
I hope the Catholic church steps up in current times.
This was the church my family went to while I was growing up. This is crazy to see this morning.
So sad. We are going to have a tough time surviving the next 3.5 years. God forbid another maga is elected in 2028
I’ve been following you long enough to know that “this is not who we are” is not necessarily literal - it seems to be both a lamentation and a call to action. I would gently suggest though that you may want to consider a shift in your wording, because “this *is* who we are becoming”.
Prove it!
Sorry.. it’s exactly who we are..
It shouldn't be who we are, but at the moment THIS IS WHO WE ARE right now. Too many can't fathom "what to do". I was speaking with an old friend who was "distressed". I said call your politicians, local, federal. She laughed and said "that does't work". A few phone calls were too much.
It's what our reality is, so....
Counterpoint: it is who we are.
Joe, I'm afraid we are, though. This is what our country voted in. What they wanted. We've always been this way, Trump just gave them the courage to act and speak out more. I know because I grew up with these people in a fire and brimstone religious, very bigoted family.
I think it is now.
This is exactly who we are! 🍌
