I don’t mean to be “high & mighty,” and I’ve only been a Democrat for 3 months, but it’s clear to me the Democratic Party establishment is not meeting this moment. Our 249yr old democracy is literally being destroyed, “concerned” just doesn’t cut it. I’m pissed off. We’re at war defending democracy.

Democrats, I'm a lifelong one. Have NEVER met the moment and it really fucking pisses me off. Dems lost IA a few years ago, DNC left. Michelle Obama "we go high" FUCK THAT!!!! My husband has told me to run, but my mouth, I have vocab of a Sailor and the heart of an Angel, but love to swear

I've been a Democrat for my entire life, and I couldn't agree more. We need @chrismurphyct.bsky.social instead of @schumer.senate.gov and @aoc.bsky.social instead of @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social. There are other options, but the current 'leaders' need to step aside.

Vote them out of office. Actually, it's our fault. We became complacent and didn't hold them accountable. They're supposed to work for us, nor their corporate donors.

I agree with you. Lifelong dem in Illinois for the past 35 years. We need to be fighters right now. Jeffries and Schumer are not meeting the moment.

What can democrats do? The scotus is setting the rules with shadow dockets bending the laws toward fascism as quickly as they can crank em out. Seems we can slow it down but it seems inevitable. Soon the economy & markets will crash. This is what they want to happen. If you need a preview, see Gaza.

I'm a lifelong Democrat and I agree with you about the party establishment. I'm a DC resident and I'm embarrassed by our mayor kissing Trump's ass. As for our congressional delegate what the hell is she even doing?

I'm pissed off about the failure of Republicans in Congress to give a damn about upholding the rule of law or refraining from appointing incompetent evil morons to high level roles. Dems, whatever their issues, are not like that.

I know my opinion doesn't matter being a Canadian but I agree with you on this one Joe. I'm actually going to go ahead and say a leadership review wouldn't be a bad thing. But I'm just an observer.

Joe, Some governors & mayors are standing up to trump's threats of military invasion. And it takes an enormous amount of courage & stellar leadership given trump's insane violence & arrests. I'm as worried & horrified as anyone. But please don't say all Democrats are not standing up to him.

You are the Democratic party now. If it's one thing I learned as a D 30+ years, it's very hands on, kind of a do it yourself attitude. And when you think about it, that is the opposite of Rs who despite the lies and rhetoric really is the 'gimme' party, it's why they love tump who promises the moon.

I think a lot of GOP presume that anyone who wants to go to DC is corrupt and nuts anyway. And a lot of Dems seem to think that elections confer on people special ethics which mean you should always assume the best. Very poor pairing.

I think representational govt is the problem. We can vote directly on issues, which means no need for politicians, lobbyists, special interests, PACS, Fox, etc. No more bribing politicians bc no more politicians.

Ok, on that point we are in total agreement. And it is obvious that current Democratic leadership is unequal to the task. But I distinguish between Jeffries and Schumer who are the ones who have the responsibility and Obama who is an eloquent figurehead.

Joe, you mean well. However you do not seem to understand that dems have no power right now. They can fight with words but they can’t really DO anything. We seem weak because we are weak. You can’t expect the party to act powerful with both arms and both legs tied behind their backs.
