it's the Christianity kink- suffering in the name of Jesus is noble and success is for those truly blessed, not for the likes of anyone else. how dare we aspire to comfort or dignity when Christ died for our sins?

I expect the worst. Just saying he's clearly out of his mind, prob on his way out. Even cult loyalty has limits and maga is as batshit as it gets. To me it seems like fumes collecting while everyone is lighting matches.
