Usually I think the problem with American junk food is it tastes good and has little real nutritional value. Basically sugar, salt, carbs fat and not much else. So it’s addictive but doesn’t give you much but calories. In this case it tastes awful and I can’t imagine anyone being addicted to it.

GAK!!! I learned how to make lasagna with dry noodles, but the recipe has to be modified by adding extra tomato sauce mixture so the pasta has something to absorb. If not, it's either gummy or hard as a rock.

For starters, cooking pasta without adding water/rinsing is pretty bad.

Rinsing? Pasta should only be rinsed after cooking if it is going to be used in a cold preparation, like pasta salad.

I have always rinsed it, to get rid of the starch, but I guess most people don't. The pasta should still be cooked before adding to this kind of dish, although I doubt anyone willing to eat this would mind. ;)
