We saw this a bit in 2022. Nate Cohn in particular was so deeply convinced that he knew how the election was supposed to go--very bad for Dems--that when his own polling came back showing him that wasnt likely he *dismissed the polling* in favor of sticking to his pre-built narrative.
All the data boys becoming dipshit pundits has really been uniformly bad for them & for electoral discourse
God I remember how annoying he was against Rosenberg who was one of the few that ACTUALLY read the data.
2022 was so unhinged, republicans couldn't pick up bunch of Trump voting districts but got several double digit Biden ones.
I will never forgive the American public for saving their asses in 2024
